Super Bowl Kickoff Time: Your Need-To-Know Guide To The Big Game’s Schedule
Despite all the lead up, hype and anticipation that surrounds Super Bowl XLV, it’s still the million dollar question among a number of fans: when does the game actually, you know, start?
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers will put an end to all the pageantry, all the build up of pomp, circumstance and whatever else at 6:29 p.m. eastern time, according to Fox’s schedule of events.
And the schedule of events is pretty lengthy, so you’ve basically got all day to get yourselves ready for the actual opening kick moments before 6:30 this evening. The Fox pregame show will start up at 2:00 p.m. eastern, but ESPN’s already on the air broadcasting pregame from Dallas.
So you can basically plop in front of the television and watch hours upon hours of pregame analysis, discussion, debate and so on and so forth.
Fox’s broadcast will be anchored, ultimately, by announcing crew Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Their last Super Bowl call was the New York Giants’ stunning upset of the New England Patriots in dramatic fashion back in February 2008.
Fox will also have a “red carpet” event that starts up later this afternoon. They’ll broadcast an interview between Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly and President Barack Obama. They’ll also have a much less important interview between Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers, and former Steelers great Terry Bradshaw.
But for football fans, obviously the big time to circle is 6:30 this evening. That’s when you can forget about all the predictions and pregame buildup and actually sit down and enjoy the game.
