Nik Cochran put forth 21 points and seven rebounds to pace the Davidson Wildcats in an 75-64 upset of the College of Charleston Cougars in a Southern Conference showdown at the Belk Arena.
JP Kuhlman posted 15 points for the Wildcats (9-12, 3-7 SoCon), who ended a four-game slide. Brendan McKillop chipped in with 11 points, while Jake Cohen and De’Mon Brooks had 10 points apiece.
Andrew Goudelock dropped in 21 points for the Cougars (15-7, 8-2), who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Jeremy Simmons and Trent Wiedeman each scored 11 points, while Andrew Lawrence finished with 10.
Davidson shot a dismal 26.7 percent from the field, including an 0-of-10 showing from downtown, in the first half and it trailed 33-24 at the break.
The Wildcats turned it around in the second half, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 9-of-14 from three-point range for the 11-point victory.
Davidson won the battle on the boards, 43-29, including a 17-6 advantage on the offensive glass.
