Celtics trade Kendrick Perkins, Nate Robinson for Nenad Krstic, Jeff Green.
Sports Illustrated reports that the Celtics will be trading starting center Kendrick Perkins and backup point guard Nate Robinson to the Thunder for forward Jeff Green and center Nenad Krstic.
The trade was orchestrated by General Manager Danny Ainge. Perkins and Robinson will go to Oklahoma City in return for Green and Krstic, according to the Boston Herald.
Jeff Green is a 6-foot-9 forward averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds this season. He hails from Georgetown University and will be a restricted free agent this summer. Nenad Krstic is a 7-footer averaging 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds this season. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
Nate Robinson tweeted shortly after news of the trade:
“All I can say is wowzers,” followed by:
“Will miss all my Boston fans I love y’all, u guys showed me love, E. House shoes tough to fill and y’all made it (easy) for me to fill em.”
In additional sports trade news, the Houston Rockets have given away PG Aaron Brooks to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for PG Goran Dragic and a lottery-protected first round pick, according to Sportingnews.com. Brooks will take over as backup point guard for the team.
