Police have taken a suspect into custody after a man was shot on Monday, Feb. 14, at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Mufreesboro, Tenn., the university announced.
“Suspect is now in custody and weapon has been found,” MTSU said in an alert.
The school was on lockdown after a one student shot another student in the hand after an argument between the two men near the school’s Business and Aerospace Building in the late morning.
The victim had a minor flesh wound to his hand, Roy Brewer, associate chief of police at MTSU told the Daily News Journal.
Except for the Business and Aerospace Building, the rest of the school resumed classes and activities at 1:30 p.m. local time.
The Business and Aerospace Building reopened at 2:23 p.m.
The suspect’s name has not been released.
