Mary Harvey claims Steve bullied, trying to jail her post divorce – Examiner.com

In the wake of statements from both Steve Harvey and his current wife, Marjorie, Mary Harvey continues to address her past with the Celebration of Gospel and ‘Family Feud’ host. Taking to television, granting interviews to CNN’s Jane Velez Mitchell, Extra, and Inside Edition this week, Harvey’s ex wife (Mary) says he has not only been bullying her in court for years but tried to jail her.

“You can only cry so hard, you know. And after that you can’t even cry anymore, you just go numb. I’ve been numb for so, so long,” Harvey told Inside Edition recently.

“For so many years, I have just really dealt with so much bullying from Steve, from his team, from his camp. I just really personally cannot live my life under the umbrella of fear. I have been in fear for so long because I have been bullied in the court of Texas,” she went on to tell Jane Velez Mitchell. “And I just — I just choose not to be bullied anymore. I just choose not to be bullied because it`s too emotionally devastating for me. It`s like walking around in my life and I`m not alive in my life.”

Countering the belief held by some that she is speaking now, nearly six years after their divorce (2005), due to monetary compensation, Harvey’s ex-wife says she’s not suing and doesn’t want anything from him even though he is trying to have her jailed.

“Right now, yes, he’s suing me because he says I interfered with Oprah giving him a TV deal. Wow. All that power I didn’t even know I had. He’s trying to get me fined or jailed for six months,” Harvey told Extra in an excerpt published early Wednesday. “That’s what the document said. I’m not suing him for anything. There’s not a lawsuit on the books from me against him, nowhere, no way. I have nothing left.”

It’s no secret Steve Harvey has had major success in recent years, stemming from his best selling advice tome “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man’. The NAACP Image Award winning book kicked off a series of high profile jaunts for the ‘The Steve Harvey Show’ and at one point ‘Kings of Comedy’ star including spots on Oprah, Good Morning America and the much discussed and debated panel and Nightline distributed special ‘Why can’t a successful black woman find a man ?’ in 2010. Harvey has also hosted BET’s Celebration of Gospel, performed at religious events including ‘Megafest’ a popular gathering associated with teleevangelist T.D. Jakes and released a comedy special titled ‘Don’t Trip, He (God) Ain’t Through With Me Yet’.

All of that is not lost on his ex-wife.

He’s got these books that he and Margery (Marjorie) are in spiritual upswing. I thought maybe now I can have realistic expectations about seeing my son. But there was no communication and there’s still no communication between the three of us,” she said earlier this week. “”To this day, as I sit in this chair talking to you, he never said he was sorry.

A court has reportedly set a date for the Harveys in relation to the series of videos posted on Youtube last week. At that point sources say, Steve Harvey will seek sanctions against Mary for making her allegations public.
