HP has released its Compaq Presario CQ1 all-in-one nettop PC earlier than expected. The Presario CQ1-1020 uses a single-core 1.66GHz Intel Atom processor along with an 18.5-inch display with a 1366×768 resolution. Onboard graphics are handled by Intel’s integrated GMA 3150 chipset.

Standard RAM is set at 1GB, but can be upgraded up to 4GB. There is a sole 160GB, 7,200RPM hard drive preloaded with Windows XP Home Edition and a DVD burner. Otherwise, standard specs include Wi-Fi, a built-in webcam and microphone, stereo speakers, eight USB ports and a 6-in-1 card reader.

HP introduced a new portable scanner, the Scanjet Profesional 1000 Mobile, the first that requires no battery or AC adapter, signed by the company. The new mobile scanner HP can power it by USB, has a scan resolution up to 600 dpi and supports all major image formats and text, from bitmap to pdf from jpeg to docx.

Scan documents on the spot, wherever you are — in the office, in the field or on the go, with HP’s robust, compact, portable scanner. Organise contracts, forms, receipts and business cards on your PC instead of on your desk or in your briefcase.

With a scanning speed ranging from 10 to 26 seconds per page and with support for plain paper, plastic cards, business cards or envelopes, the Scanjet 1000 Professional Mobile HP is already on sale at £ 186.
